This Site primarily allows visitors to redeem Treecycler codes and select where they would like a tree to be planted. Treecycler codes are found on participating direct mail pieces and other participating products. When you redeem a Treecycler code, you will have the opportunity to select from a handful of tree-planting companies throughout the world with whom Treecycler has partnered to have your tree planted. The Site may allow visitors to create a profile on the Site, including via use of a social media connect feature such as Facebook Connect. If you create a profile, it will be a public profile that other visitors of the Site can view and your activities on the Site (such as when and where you planted a tree) may be displayed on various places throughout the Site.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT ON THE SITE AND HOW WE USE IT
Information You Provide Us
Treecycler may use information collected through the Site, including your Personal Information, to: (1) allow you to participate in promotions, programs, or features we offer or to provide related customer service, including, without limitation, to respond to your questions, complaints or comments; (2) provide you with information, products, or services that you have requested or agreed to receive; (3) process your registration with the Site; (4) improve the Site or our services and for internal business purposes; (5) contact you regarding your use of the Site (including confirming your actions on the Site from time to time) and, in our discretion, changes to the Site policies; and (6) for purposes disclosed at the time you provide your Personal Information or otherwise with your consent.
Please note that information submitted to the Site via a “contact us" or other similar function may not receive a response. We will not use the information provided via these functions to contact you for marketing purposes unrelated to your request unless you agree otherwise.
Community Forums, User Content, and Posting Content To Third Party Sites
The Site may provide you the opportunity to participate and post content publicly in forums, through interactive features and through other communication functionality ("Community Forums"). You may choose, through such features or otherwise, to submit comments, suggestions or other content, (collectively, "User Content"). Please note that your full name may be publicly displayed on the Site along with your User Content and activity on the Site.
Also, functionality on the Site may permit interactions between the Site and a third party web site, such as enabling you to “like” a product or service on our Site or “share” content to other web sites. If you choose to “like” or “share” content on the Site or to otherwise post information from or via the Site to a third party web site, feature or application, that information will become public and the third party may have access to information about you and your use of our Site.
Information You Provide About a Third Party
If you send someone else a communication from the Site, such as sending an offer to a friend, the information you provide (names, e-mail addresses, etc.) is used to facilitate the communication and is not used for any other marketing purpose unless we obtain consent from that person.
Information We Collect Automatically As You Access and Use the Site
In addition to any Personal Information or other information that you choose to submit to the Site, we and our third-party service providers, including any third party content providers, may use a variety of technologies that automatically or passively collect certain information whenever you visit or interact with the Site ("Usage Information"). Usage Information may include the browser and operating system you are using, the URL or advertisement that referred you to our Site, the search terms you entered into a search engine that lead you to our Site (if applicable), all of the areas within our Site that you visit, and the time of day, among other information. We may use Usage Information for a variety of purposes, including enhancing or otherwise improving the Site and our products and services. In addition, we automatically collect your IP address or other unique identifier (“Device Identifier”) for any computer, mobile phone or other device (any, a “Device”) you may use to access the Site. Web beacons or similar technologies may be used for a number of purposes, including, without limitation, to count visitors to the Site, to monitor how users navigate the Site, to count how many e-mails that were sent were actually opened or to count how many particular articles or links were actually viewed.
Embedded Scripts. An embedded script is programming code that is designed to collect information about your interactions with the Site, such as the links you click on. The code is temporarily downloaded onto your Device from our web server or a third party service provider, is active only while you are connected to the Site, and is deactivated or deleted thereafter.

Sweepstakes, Contests and Promotions
We may offer sweepstakes, contests, and other promotions (any, a "Promotion") that may require registration. By participating in a Promotion, you are agreeing to the terms, conditions or official rules that govern that Promotion, which may contain specific requirements of you, including, except where prohibited by law, allowing the sponsor(s) of the Promotion to use your name, voice, likeness or other indicia of persona in advertising or marketing associated with the Promotion. If you choose to enter a Promotion, Personal Information may be disclosed to third parties or the public in connection with the administration of such Promotion, including, without limitation, in connection with winner selection, prize fulfillment, and as required by law or permitted by the Promotion's official rules, such as on a winners list.
Administrative and Legal Reasons
Treecycler may share Personal Information with its parent, subsidiaries and affiliates, primarily for business and operational purposes. Treecycler also reserves the right to disclose and transfer all information related to the Site, including Personal Information: (i) to a subsequent owner, co-owner or operator of the Site or applicable database; or (ii) in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of certain of Treecycler's ownership interests, assets, or both, or other company change, including, without limitation, during the course of any due diligence process.
THIRD PARTY ANALYTICS PROVIDERS AND AD SERVERS
Although the Site currently does not display ads from third parties, Treecycler works with third party traffic measurement services (e.g., Google Analytics) and other vendors to provide us with information regarding traffic on the Site. In connection with providing analytics services, our service providers may collect certain information about your visits to this or other web sites. We do not share Personal Information with these service providers, but they may set and access their own tracking technologies on your Device (including cookies and web beacons) and may otherwise collect or have access to information about you (such as your Site Usage Information). We may share Usage Information about visitors with analytics providers.
CHANGING YOUR INFORMATION, PREFERENCES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
You may opt out of receiving marketing communications, change your information stored by Treecycler, or delete your Treecycler account (if an account is offered), by sending an email to privacy [at] treecycler [dot] com with your request in the body and make sure to include the words “Treecycler” in the subject line, otherwise processing your request may be delayed or your request may be unable to be processed.
You may also opt out of receiving marketing e-mails by following the opt-out instructions provided to you in an e-mail you receive.
Please note that we reserve the right to send you certain communications relating to your account or use of the Site (for example, administrative and service announcements) and these transactional account messages may be unaffected if you opt-out from marketing communications.
THIRD PARTY CONTENT, LINKS TO OTHER SITES, AND TREECYCLER CONTENT FOUND OUTSIDE OF THE SITE
Certain content on the Site may be hosted and served by third parties. The Site may include third party widgets (such as those that allow you to “like” or “share” content with third party web sites and online services) and the Site may contain links to third party web sites that Treecycler does not control. This includes links from advertisers, sponsors and partners that may use our logo(s) as part of a co-branding or agreement or other relationship, including third parties who are offering the Treecycler program. In addition, Treecycler content may be included on web pages and web sites that are not associated with Treecycler and over which we have no control. These third parties may collect Usage Information through the use of their own cookies and web beacons [Link to those sections of this policy], independently collect data or solicit Personal Information, and may have the ability to track your use of their sites and services. Treecycler is not responsible for the privacy practices employed by any third party.
Treecycler takes commercially reasonable steps to help protect and secure Personal Information that Treecycler collects on the Site. However, no data transmission over the Internet, wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Please note that we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information we collect, and you use our Site and provide us with your information at your own risk.
CONSENT TO TRANSFER
The Site is operated in the United States. If you are located in the European Union, Canada or elsewhere outside the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Site, or providing us with any information, you consent to this transfer, processing and storage of your information in the United States, a jurisdiction in which the privacy laws may not be as comprehensive as those in the country where you reside and/or are a citizen.
